After the state Fire Marshall condemned the 1898 building, it took five votes before the construction bond for the new school was passed by the town's voters.

2. The property tax rate in Lisbon is 30% higher than the state average. From 1990 to 1993 the median value of a house in Lisbon dropped from $70,000 to $51,000. The median income in Lisbon dropped from $32,000 in 1990 to $27,000 in 1993.

3. 5% of the school district's budget is comprised of discretionary spending, which includes kindergarten.
